Abstract: Despite therapeutic advances in recent decades, the mortality and morbidity of patients with ANCA-associated vasculitides (AAV) continue to be significantly increased compared to the general population. The goal of this project was the evaluation of alternative paraclinical parameters for the assessment of the disease activity and progression. In addition to sCD163 (a marker of the monocyte-macrophage system), cell-free DNA was determined in plasma to quantify neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), which play a central role in the pathogenesis of AAVs.
