Abstract: This work describes a novel manufacturing process for copolymerized, acrylate-based hydrogel coatings by means of an atmospheric pressure plasma jet. The special feature is the simplicity of the developed process, which generates hydrogels with adjustable properties (pH dependence, controlled transport of electroactive species) within seconds without the use of additional chemicals. This not only enables innovative electrode modifications, but also provides a platform for biomolecules with regard to sensory applications.
