Abstract: Single-shot coherent diffractive imaging (CDI) has proven to be a successful tool for analyzing the structure of individual free nanoparticles and tracking their light-induced dynamics with exceptional spatial and temporal resolution. Nonlinear quantum effects are particularly important in the context of resonant excitation and high intensities. In this work, a density matrix-based scattering model was developed in order to include such quantum effects in the local medium response and explore the transition from linear to nonlinear CDI for the scattering from Helium nanodroplets.
