Mandibular defects from tumour resections impair quality of life and often require
complex surgeries. Autologous bone grafts, the gold standard, can lead to complications
and prolonged healing. Electrical stimulation is a promising alternative but hasn't
been applied to mandibular defects. This dissertation develops electrostimulating
implants delivering optimal electric field strengths (5-70 V/m) for mandibular regeneration.
Using 3D modelling and finite element analysis, implant design is optimised and the
impact of uncertain parameters is assessed, advancing oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Parameter, was Fortschritte in der Kieferchirurgie ermöglicht.
