Abstract: The professional development of teachers focuses on the advancement of job-specific competencies. Often, the prevailing assumption is that teaching can be improved through external training impulses. This study adopts a shift in perspective and designs a professionalization format that places the exchange of effective teaching experiences at the center of professional development. The pilot implementation at schools specializing in the education of students with intellectual disabilities is summatively evaluated through an exploratory study using a mixed-methods design.
