Abstract: Advanced quantitative methods are used to analyze the scattering and rheology of interacting colloidal many-particle systems. By combining a coarse-grained core-shell model with multi-component Percus-Yevick theory, the self-organization of PDMS-stabilized PMMA particles is quantitatively described and their suitability as a hard sphere model system is proven. Mode-coupling theory (MCT), incorporating hydrodynamic interactions, predicts transport properties of these systems with quantitative accuracy. The viscoelastic response of network-forming colloidal gels is also analyzed using MCT.
