Ziel dieser retrospektiven Arbeit war es, die Bedeutung der temporalen Muskeldicke
(TMT) bei Patienten mit chronischem Subduralhämatom (cSDH) zu identifizieren. Es wurden
der Zusammenhang zwischen TMT, soziodemographischen Daten, radiologischen Parametern,
Vorerkrankungen, klinischem Verlauf, klinischem Ergebnis und Rezidivrate der Probanden
untersucht. Ergebnisse zeigten unter anderem, dass niedrige TMT mit hohem Alter, hohem
Hämatomvolumen, dem vorherigen Auftreten eines Traumas und höheren mRS-Werten korreliert.
Die TMT kann nun auch beim cSDH zur Risikostratifizierung genutzt werden.

The aim of this retrospective study was to identify the significance of temporal muscle
thickness (TMT) in patients with chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH). The relationship
between TMT, sociodemographic data, radiological parameters, pre-existing conditions,
clinical course, clinical outcome and recurrence rate of the subjects were investigated.
Results showed, among other things, that low TMT correlates with advanced age, high
hematoma volume, previous trauma and higher mRS values. TMT can now also be used for
risk stratification in cSDH.
