Abstract: The aim of this retrospective study was to identify the significance of temporal muscle thickness (TMT) in patients with chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH). The relationship between TMT, sociodemographic data, radiological parameters, pre-existing conditions, clinical course, clinical outcome and recurrence rate of the subjects were investigated. Results showed, among other things, that low TMT correlates with advanced age, high hematoma volume, previous trauma and higher mRS values. TMT can now also be used for risk stratification in cSDH.
