Abstract: The dissertation explores theoretical and practical implications of smart contracts in supply chains through four studies. It examines technology adoption, trust dynamics, transaction costs, and applications in virtual supply networks. Building on literature and empirical data, the work highlights both opportunities and challenges of this technology and provides actionable insights for practitioners as well as contributions to advancing existing theoretical frameworks.
