Im Pilocarpin-Rattenmodell der Temporallappenepilepsie wurde untersucht, ob eine frühe
Behandlung mit Mycophenolatmofetil (MMF) nach einem Status epilepticus die Anfallshäufigkeit
beeinflusst. Die Video-EEG-Auswertung zeigte keine signifikante Reduktion der Anfallshäufigkeit
in der MMF-Gruppe im Vergleich zur Placebokontrolle. Allerdings war die Anfallsaktivität
in der MMF-Gruppe weniger variabel, was auf eine mögliche immunologische Modulation
des Krankheitsverlaufs hindeutet.

The pilocarpine rat model of temporal lobe epilepsy was used to investigate whether
early treatment with mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) after status epilepticus influences
seizure frequency. The video-EEG analysis showed no significant reduction in seizure
frequency in the MMF group compared to the placebo control. However, seizure activity
was less variable in the MMF group, indicating a possible immunological modulation
of the course of the disease.
