Single-particle mass spectrometry (SPMS) was used to identify ship exhaust aerosols.
The focus was on the detection of classical (metals) and the investigation of possible
future tracers (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) for ship exhaust aerosols in MS
from different marine fuels. This work is mainly based on measurements of real ambient
aerosols. The studies presented include a case study, further emission measurements
of different fuels on a ship engine on a test rig, and an extensive measurement campaign
in the port of Rostock.

Die Einzelpartikel-Massenspektrometrie (SPMS) wurde in dieser Arbeit zur Identifizierung
von Schiffsabgas-Aerosolen eingesetzt. Der Fokus lag dabei auf dem Nachweis klassischer
(Metalle) und der Untersuchung möglicher zukünftiger Tracer (polyzyklische aromatische
Kohlenwasserstoffe) in der MS aus verschiedenen Schiffstreibstoffen. Die Arbeit basiert
primär auf Untersuchungen realen Umgebungsaerosole. Die vorgestellten Studien umfassen
eine Fallstudie, weiterführende Abgasmessungen verschiedener Kraftstoffe an einem
Schiffsmotor auf einem Prüfstand sowie eine Messkampagne im Hafen von Rostock.
