Die Anaspidacea stellen eine einzigartige, jedoch wissenschaftlich bislang wenig untersuchte
Ordnung innerhalb der Malacostraca (Höhere Krebse) dar und kommen ausschließlich im
Süßwasser vor. Die vorliegende Dissertation liefert neue Erkenntnisse zu der Systematik,
Taxonomie, Phylogeographie, Populationsgenetik und Artbildung der „Tasmanischen Berggarnelen“
(Anaspides, Anaspidacea). Neben morphologischen Analysen kamen insbesondere genetische
Methoden wie die Sanger-Sequenzierung, Genome Skimming und ddRAD-Analysen zum Einsatz.
