Die Produktion von Fischerei- und Aquakulturprodukten steigt weltweit. Für Clarias
gariepinus wurden industrienahe Haltungsbedingungen analysiert und anhand wissenschaftlicher
Erkenntnisse optimiert. Zudem bietet die Nutzung in Aquaponik Vorteile. Die Arbeit
zeigt, dass variable Besatzdichten je nach Wachstumsphase sinnvoll sind. Lichtsteuerung
verbesserte die Futteraufnahme ohne Stress. Warme Lichtfarben förderten Kondition,
blaue führten zu Stress. Schall wirkte störend. Mikronährstoffdünger waren unproblematisch;
für Jungfische wird eine 1:4-Verdünnung empfohlen.

Global production of fishery and aquaculture products is increasing. For Clarias gariepinus,
industry-related rearing conditions were analyzed and optimized using scientific evidence.
The species also offers advantages in aquaponics. The study shows that variable stocking
densities are beneficial depending on growth phase. Light control improved feed intake
without stress; warm light enhanced condition, while blue light caused stress. Noise
was disturbing. Micronutrient fertilizers were unproblematic; a 1:4 dilution is recommended
for juveniles.
