Abstract: This thesis explores low-valent phosphorus chemistry using sterically demanding terphenyl (DippTer) substituents. It establishes the cyanophosphide [DippTerPCN]⁻ as a versatile platform, exhibiting the first P–CN/NC coordination isomerism upon O₂ oxidation and transfer reactivity to GeCl₂ (forming chlorogermylenes) and PCl₃/AsCl₃. A related DippTer-phosphafluorene enables Frustrated Lewis Pair (FLP) activation of terminal alkynes, yielding zwitterionic alkenyl phosphonium borates.
