Abstract: This PhD study investigated P efficiency in forage legumes under long-term P management and various recycling fertilizers. Field trials and pot experiments showed that P application was the primary determinant of soil labile P pools. Compost and struvite improved plant P uptake, while ash-based products performed poorly. Fertilizer properties influenced P efficiency more than genetic variation. Plant genetic resources and P source selection represent complementary rather than independent strategies for sustainable P management.
