RFID is widely used in poultry behavioural research, but species-specific methodological
standards for chickens remain lacking, leading to inconsistent deployment, validation,
and behavioural inference. These gaps are addressed through four papers. Paper I reviews
RFID studies (2003–2023) and proposes a standardised roadmap. Paper II demonstrates
the limits of inferring behaviour from presence data. Paper III introduces a computer-vision
validation tool achieving >95% F1-score. Paper IV applies these methods in a mobile
poultry barn, highlighting strengths and remaining limitations.

RFID wird in der Geflügelverhaltensforschung eingesetzt, aber artspezifische Standards
fehlen. Dies führt zu inkonsistenter Implementierung, Validierung und Verhaltensinterpretation.
Diese Defizite werden in vier Artikeln adressiert. Artikel I analysiert RFID-Studien
(2003–2023) und schlägt einen Leitfaden vor. Artikel II zeigt Grenzen der Verhaltensableitung.
Artikel III stellt ein computer-vision-Validierungswerkzeug (>95 % F1-Score) vor.
Artikel IV setzt Methoden in mobilen Ställen um und zeigt verbleibende Einschränkungen.
