Cytocompatibility and biocompatibility approaches with analysis of the in vivo immune responses of collagen-based and synthetic materials for bone regeneration

Abstract: This study aims to clarify the immunomodulatory role of these biomaterials in relation to tissue regeneration. Evaluate the cellular and biocompatibility properties of synthetic bone substitutes with metal ions and collagen-based barrier membranes. Assessments used subcutaneous or calvarial implantation models, focusing on macrophage-driven inflammatory patterns and tissue regeneration. Aligned with 3R principles, it also investigates jellyfish collagen to optimize in vitro cell culture and improve the accuracy of cellular compatibility predictions.
