Abstract: The number of cancer cases is increasing, while advances in diagnostics and individualized therapies are improving survival rates. As a result, health-related quality of life is becoming an increasingly important focus. Exercise therapy has been shown to have positive effects on symptoms, physical performance, quality of life, and mortality. In 2021, a structured exercise therapy program, the so-called HOTGerät, was established at University Medicine Rostock. Initial real-world data demonstrate safe training for patients, with improvements in strength, endurance, and quality of life.
