Menschen mit ADHS leiden häufig unter Störungen des Tag-Nacht-Rhythmus (zirkadiane
Rhythmik). Da Dopamin bei ADHS eine zentrale Rolle spielt, untersuchte diese Arbeit
an einem patientenspezifischen Zellmodell (humane dermale Fibroblasten), wie Dopamin
die Genexpression der inneren Uhr beeinflusst. Es zeigten sich signifikante Unterschiede
bei verschiedenen Dopaminkonzentrationen sowohl innerhalb als auch zwischen der ADHS-
und der Kontrollgruppe. Dies deutet darauf hin, dass ADHS-Medikamente den Rhythmus
stören oder normalisieren können.

People with ADHD often suffer from disruptions in their day-night rhythm (circadian
rhythm). Since dopamine plays a central role in ADHD, this study investigated how
dopamine influences the gene expression of the internal clock using a patient-specific
cell model (human dermal fibroblasts). Significant differences were found at various
dopamine concentrations both within and between the ADHD and control groups. This
suggests that ADHD medications can disrupt or normalize the circadian rhythm.
