Abstract: These conference proceedings contain selected contributions from the Development and Evaluation of Maritime Technologies (DEMaT) 2025 International Workshop, held in Oostende, Belgium, from 29 September to 2 October 2025. The contributions address the monitoring and quantification of fishing effort, numerical and experimental analysis of fishing gear and aquaculture systems, hydrodynamic interactions and scale modelling, fishing gear material performance and selectivity, as well as technical approaches to reducing bycatch and environmental impacts. Together, the papers cover a range of methods including sensor technologies, numerical simulation, flume and towing tank experiments, and full-scale sea trials.
