In der vorliegenden Staatsexamensarbeit werden fünf unterschiedliche Chemikerehepaare
im Kontext ihrer jeweiligen Zeitepoche untersucht. Hierfür wird zunächst ein allgemeiner
Überblick zum Geschlechterverhältnis in der Ehe vom Mittelalter bis hinein in das
21. Jahrhundert gegeben, um anschließend die einzelnen Paare vorzustellen, ihre Leistungen
in der Chemie zu würdigen und ihr Eheleben mit den Vorstellungen der Zeit zu vergleichen.
Als Ehepaare wurden ausgewählt: Nicolas Flamel und seine Frau, Antoine und Marie-Anne
Lavoisier, die Marcets, Fritz Haber und Clara Immerwahr sowie die Coris.

In the present state exam thesis, five different chemist couples are examined in the
context of their respective epochs. Therefore, a general overview of the gender relationship
in marriage from the Middle Ages to the 21st century is given firstly, in order then
to introduce the individualy couples, to acknowledge their achievements in chemistry
and to compare their married life with the ideas of their times. The following couples
were selected: Nicolas Flamel and his wife, Antoine and Marie-Anne Lavoisier, the
Marcets, Fritz Haber and Clara Immerwahr and the Coris.
