Abstract: Hölty's hymns represent a unique phenomenon in his work. There are only two hymns in his entire work that I heuristically assume to have a cyclical relationship, even if, according to the definition, they cannot be classified as cyclopoietic works. My theory design is based on results from Goethe researchers such as Marianne Wünsch and Claus-Michael Ort. An a hermeneutical gain in knowledge could be gained by considering both poems together and examining cyclical potential.
