Abstract: This qualitative study compares the learning management systems Stud.IP (Germany) and Brightspace (Ireland) in the higher education context, with a particular focus on their communication and interaction features. The central research question addresses the impact of these learning management systems on university teaching, as well as the associated potentials and challenges. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured, problem-centered interviews with university instructors and university students, and the data was analyzed using a deductive-inductive approach.
